ECUADORIAN COINS
The sucre was the currency of Ecuador between 1884 and 2000. In the year 2000 Ecuadorian centavo coins were introduced when Ecuador converted its currency from the sucre to the U.S. dollar. Denominations of these coins were 1, 5, 10, 25 and 50 centavos and are the same in size and value to the US cent. They circulate within Ecuador alongside coins and banknotes from the U.S.A.
