Maria Theresa 1780 Thaler Re-strike Pendant on a Silver chain.

An impressive size Coin Pendant containing a Re-strike of the Austrian 1780 Maria Theresa Thaler. Both the mount and chain are Austrian made and 835 silver (83.5% pure). The mount has a flattened, twisted wire surround with a fluted bail to the top. The chain has a bolt ring clasp and is on an alternating twisted wire and belcher link style.

Dimensions: The coin and mount measure approximately 50mm (2") in diameter with the bail at the top adding another 13mm to the length. The chain is approximately 4mm wide at the widest point and approximately 44cm (17.25") long.

Metals and Marks: Both the mount and chain are stamped 835 and the metal has been tested to confirm it is silver (83.5% pure). The coin is .833 silver (83.3% pure).

Weight: Approximately 42.3 grams in total.

Condition: Very good. There are signs of wear and the coin shows evidence of being regularly buffed. It is impossible to date the coin as all coins of this type struck from 1781 to the present day are dated 1780, but this is not an original.

All vintage items have been worn and loved before they find their next owner, so they should always be worn or used with a little more care than a brand new piece. Some minor scratches are normal.
