This collectors ship wreck coin was from The Admiral Gardiner that sunk in January 25th 1809, travelling through a fearsome
storm in the infamous English Channel sinking the 145 feet long, 36 feet in berth ship.
Due to the roughness of the storm, rescue boats failed to reach ship. Bystanders watched helpessly as the triple deck
square rigger contructed of oak and teak sunk and took the lives of seven crewmen trapped onboard.
The Admiral Gardiner was headed for India, in its ship contained coins for payment for workers in Bengal and Madras.
Found in a well preserved condition on the seabed, the coins were well wrapped and secured in wooden casks.

Waarom overbieden gebruikers zichzelf?
