New Zealand Silver Crown, George VI, 1949 (Royal Visit).
Country: New Zealand
Denomination: 1 Crown
Monarch: George VI
Year: 1949
Material/Fineness: Silver (50%)
Grade: EF+ - AUNC. Although Uncirculated, this does have more "bag marks" than I would expect as well as the surface being subdued due to incorrect storage (possibly Vinyl damage)
Mint: Tower Hill Mint, London, UK
Mintage: 200,020 Low Mintage
Weight Approx: 28.28g
Diameter Approx: 38.61mm
Thickness Approx: 2.9mm
KM#22
Numista# 13915
Additional Notes:
This was minted as a circulating commemorative coin in anticipation of George VI Royal Visit in 1949. Sadly this did not take place as the King fell ill. A later Tour was planned for 1952, but sadly he fell ill again and passed away that year. This coin came from the UK allocation of 4,020 for collectors.
All coin gradings are my own and I would strongly suggest that you study the images carefully as they are an integral part of this listing.
For international orders, all applicable duty and tax fees are the responsibility of the buyer.
Thank you for looking and please have a look around my shops. Buy more listings and pay one postage fee.
