Struck from 1oz of pure silver in coloured format, this delightful animal coin celebrates another one of Australia’s famous pouched marsupials – the wombat.
Key features:
99.99% pure silver
Coloured wombat and joey design
Special ‘P125’ anniversary mintmark
Australian legal tender
Australia’s largest burrowing animal
Australia’s largest burrowing animal, the wombat is perfectly built for tunneling with powerful limbs and claws. Like other marsupials, the female wombat has a special pouch in which its offspring completes its development. In this species, the pouch opens backwards to avoid smothering the young animal with soil as its parent tunnels underground.
Coloured design
The coin portrays a coloured representation of a wombat and its ‘joey’ with green vegetation. Other design elements include gum trees, birds and clouds. As well as the inscription ‘WOMBAT’, the reverse includes a ‘P125’ mintmark signifying The Perth Mint’s 125th anniversary, as well as the coin’s weight, purity, and 2024 year-date
H.M. King Charles III effigy
The obverse features the Jody Clark effigy of His Majesty King Charles III, and the coin’s weight, purity, monetary denomination, and 2024 year-date.
Fold-out stand
The coin is presented on an illustrated card with a fold-out stand for upright display.
