Worn Spanish Reale Coin Fragment – A Piece of History
This silver fragment of a Spanish Reale was purchased in the USA in 2001 and is now offered as a collectible piece of shipwreck history.
The coin, a Cob minted in Mexico, was part of the infamous 1715 Fleet—known as the Plate Fleet of Nueva España—which met its tragic end when it was wrecked along Florida's coastline during a hurricane.
Although the fragment is worn, broken, and no longer readable, the original coin would have featured the iconic Hapsburg Shield, a symbol of its rich historical heritage.

Wayne acquired this fragment at auctions in New York City while staying at the historic Roosevelt Hotel, adding a personal touch to its story.
